Winter polo
Winter polo action
Players lined up for the start at 10:00 on Sunday January 8th.
Yep, winters sure are hard here in Alberta - temperature's always -40 in whatever scale you want to use, there's an icy gale howling out of the north as the blizzard pounds another metre of snow down on us, and bare skin freezes in seconds - NOT!
Sunday reached a pleasant 8 degrees C under sunny skies and the ground was bare. Perfect weather for ringing in the new year with a lively game of polo. As usual, we played by Rocky Mountain rules ('no blood? no foul!'). Final score in the 2nd game: 10-9, with each player winning (in terms of joie de vivre, anyway).
